Glen Ridge Remodel Kitchen & Mudroom Reveal

We are so excited to share with you the kitchen from our Glen Ridge remodel project. We completed this project last year but it is still getting much love.

Our client's home is on one of the most established and beautiful streets in Glen Ridge and is a picture perfect brick colonial. But the interior was dated and the kitchen crowded. And that was no good for this family of five (and sometimes six plus a fur baby). They wanted to completely reconfigure the entire first floor and make it feel fresh and modern but maintain the architectural integrity.

Let's start with the kitchen. The space was full of odd angles and hidden cabinets and had a very small eat-in area, which always felt cramped. We wanted an island big enough to fit the entire family and have it open up to the rest of the home.

We worked with architect Courtney Rombough to open up the home and gain usable space in really creative ways. More on that in a bit.

We created interest in this all-white kitchen with a muddled zinc metal hood and a marble that speaks volumes on the countertops. We brought in texture and pattern on the windows and stools – which feature a family-friendly Perennials fabric. And no modern kitchen is complete without a breakfast coffee station!

To give this busy family a mudroom that actually functions, instead of the “drop zone” they had before (five hooks on a stairwell wall), we converted a third garage bay into the most beautiful mudroom you’ll ever see. A custom gray stain on the white oak cabinetry is my favorite part.
